Dr. Azimi is a physician-scientist and founder of Dermatology and Laser of Beverly Hills. He specializes in medical dermatology, laser surgery, and aesthetic medicine. He completed his dermatology residency in the Harvard Combined Dermatology Program after a research fellowship at the Cutaneous Biology Research Center, Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Azimi’s research has advanced the field’s understanding of Mas-related G protein–coupled receptors (Mrgprs) in skin inflammation and sensory biology. He discovered the dual action of neurokinin-1 antagonsits on Mrgprs and identified first antagonists of the MrgprX2 receptor. He also described the role of MrgprX2 in red man syndrome. |
