Mitchel P. Goldman, M.D., is a graduate of Boston University, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and the Stanford University Medical School. Dr. Goldman recently retired after 36 years as a Volunteer Clinical Professor in Dermatology at the University of California, San Diego and is Board Certified by both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Vein & Lymphatic Society and the American Society of Liposuction Surgery.
Dr. Goldman founded and was the 3rd President of the American College of Phlebology and is also Past-President of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, San Diego Dermatologic Society, Sonoran Dermatology Society and past Board of Directors member of the American Venous Forum, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the Pacific Dermatology Association. He is a member of over 30 professional societies and serves as a medical consultant to numerous companies, including Allergan, Lumenis, Sofwave, Solta, Galderma, among others. Dr. Goldman holds practice/hospital affiliations with Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, CA. Dr. Goldman is an Associate Editor of numerous medical journals including: Dermatologic Surgery. He is a reviewer for the Achieves of Dermatology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and others. He has authored and/or co-authored 21 Textbooks on Cosmetic Surgery, Sclerotherapy, Ambulatory Phlebectomy, Cutaneous Laser Surgery, Cellulite and Dermatologic Surgery as well as over 400 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters. Dr. Goldman lectures both nationally and internationally. He has developed and /or performed the original investigative trials on Ultrapulse CO2 and Erbium:YAG skin resurfacing, laser treatment of leg veins, intense pulse light photorejuvenation, Q-switched alexandrite laser treatment of tattoo and pigmented skin lesions, endoluminal varicose vein closure, long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser treatment of veins, laser lipolysis and fractionated ablative and non-ablative skin resurfacing. He was the founder and Medical Director of SkinMedica, was Medical Director of Obagi Skincare as well as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board of Calecim and Pomega skincare and has consulted for over 20 different skincare companies including SkinCeuticals, Neocutis, Topix and many more. He is a recipient of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery’s 21st Century Achievement Award, American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery Presidential Award for teaching and research in laser surgery and has twice received the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery’s Presidential Award for teaching and research in dermatologic surgery. He founded and is Medical Director of Cosmetic Laser Dermatology and is currently Medical Director and on the Board of Directors for Platinum Dermatology Partners (a 120+ office Dermatology Group in Southern California, Florida, Nevada, Texas and Arizona). He holds 7 patents on a variety of laser and vascular surgery products and is involved as an advisor and investor in a variety of “start-up” technology companies. His social interests include his family of 3 children and 2 grandchildren, cycling, hiking, and SCUBA diving, not always in that order. |
